Rosewood Cura

A tiny cura; suited to fingerstyle playing, with a bright voice. A warm timbre from its mulberry fittings. This saz was made in our workshop in 2024 using rosewood and a cedar top. Every part was worked by hand; the frets were tied to suit the player's repertoire.

Material

Rosewood and a cedar top are the principal woods of this saz. The rib carries warm, dense low frequencies while the soundboard projects the upper harmonics. The neck is firm enough to hold tuning; the frets are nylon.

Sound Character

Full and resonant on the low strings; bright on the high strings without ever being thin. This saz was especially favored for slow airs and long-form melodies (uzun hava).
