At our workshop in İçerenköy, we at Tahta Kılıç Saz Evi have for years welcomed saz lovers from all over Istanbul, from every corner of Türkiye — and even from different countries and continents. Knowing that a saz comes from the hands of its maker makes the journey worth every kilometre.
Getting to the Workshop Is Easy
We are at a central spot on the Anatolian side, close to the Kozyatağı metro station and easy to reach by public transport. You can drop by to buy a saz, to have one repaired, or simply out of curiosity to see how they are made. We are also delighted to host music lovers coming from afar — even from abroad.
What We Do
- Custom-crafted bağlama making — made to order for each player
- Saz repair, tuning and restoration — new life for worn bağlamas
- String replacement and maintenance on other instruments — string changes and repair-maintenance up to a certain level for guitar, oud, tanbur, panduri, mandolin, cümbüş and violin
- Accessories and cases — capos, jack / audio cables, strings, instrument cases and various saz accessories
- Guidance — help in choosing the right saz
